Our daughter, Ava Catherine Zork, was born on March 8, 2014. We played this song for her during her third trimester in utero. We continued to play it for her during her "fourth trimester," providing a soundtrack of musical continuity for her adjustment to life in our home outside the womb.

Womb and world are one
Vibrations move a cord that none
Have sounded before and once begun
Will echo till you are born

Words you can’t repeat
Memories so brief and incomplete
Waiting till cry and whisper meet
In their sweet harmony

Your ears, breathing the air in motion
You hear, bathed in this waving ocean
Now clear, voices you know can welcome you home

Home, where held in song
Woven in time with thread so strong
Soon you will learn to sing along
And she will carry you
